Beautiful Memories of Dad's Joy
Welcome to the first post honoring my father's artwork and legacy. I plan to offer thoughts and highlights of his passion for life, as well as his artwork. This spring has been filled with memories of Dad, with trips to Cannon Beach and Kauai, two places that meant so much to him and inspired some wonderful artwork pieces. Nature provided an unlimited source of inspiration for him, which he expressed without reservation.
As we walked along Cannon Beach, it was like walking into Dad's paintings. As you look through the Seascape Collection, his freedom with color and capture of light are so free: he found the confidence to paint with unconventional colors in some cases. He also captures the moody nature of an overcast day or the peace of floating in an inlet.
Kauai reminded us of Dad's playful nature and emotional connection to Hawaii. He bubbled with happiness when he was there and his paintings depicting sea turtles and Kauai roosters capture his joy.
Take care and take time to appreciate the world around you the way Dad did. You won't regret a minute of it!
Print on demand is now available, so if you're inspired to have any of Dad's paintings, it's now an easy process! Just go to the "Prints" collection and find what you'd like to order, in any size. I can get custom sizes done for you, so don't be shy about reaching out to me directly. Now that I've got most of the paintings scanned at high resolution, we can accomplish almost any request!
If you have any of his original paintings or prints hanging in your homes, we would all love to see those. And, if I haven't had a chance to scan an original that is in your possession, please contact me so I can add to this wonderful body of work ([email protected]).
